A fisherman in Thailand was aghast when he snagged a nightmarish spider-like sea creature which sported a whopping twenty legs. The strange catch was reportedly made by Desha Srichai this past weekend as he was fishing in the province of Krabi. Reeling in his net and surveying the results of his handiwork, the man was taken aback when he noticed the bizarre creature which stood out among the more pedestrian fish in his haul. "At first I thought it was just a twig but then the thing started to move," Srichai recalled, noting that the sight scared him so much that quickly dropped his net and leapt backward to distance himself from the oddity.
"It confused me because that was the first time I'd seen such a strange creature," the bewildered fisherman explained. To that end, uncertain about what to do with the weird catch, he first poked it with a stick and even briefly considered burning it before opting to film the 'monster' with his cell phone. After documenting the disturbing find, Srichai released it back into the water with the hope that "I don't catch anything like that again." As far as what the 'alien' catch turned out to be, marine biologists say that the creature is an animal known as a feather star, which is a crinoid related to starfish and sea urchins.
