A pair of urban explorers visiting a shuttered nursing home in England captured footage of what appears to be a ghostly figure lurking in the abandoned building. The spooky incident reportedly occurred as Matt Nadin and Andy Thompson were investigating the Mossley Manor Care Home, which is located in the city of Liverpool. The facility was shut down back in 2015 following shocking revelations about the mistreatment of residents which were so unsettling that the press took to calling the site the "nursing home from hell."
With that monstrous reputation in mind, the explorers journeyed to the Mossley Manor Care Home to examine the current state of the building as part of their delightfully-named group 'Finders Beepers History Seekers.' As the duo were walking through the facility and marveling at its creepy state of disrepair, their adventure took a chilling turn when they suddenly spotted what seems to be a figure trying to catch a glimpse of them from atop a staircase.
In an undeniably spooky video capturing the incident, Nadin can be heard describing the dilapidated stairwell when he suddenly spots an unnerving form that briefly appears on the second floor before moving out of sight. Calling out "hello," he gets no response and the two men seem to be genuinely taken aback by what they've gotten themselves into. After a few seconds of debate, Nadin bravely decides to venture up the stairs and, to his bewilderment, find that not only is no one around, but there is nowhere that they could've gone to escape.
Looking back on the eerie experience, Nadin mused that "initially I didn't think it was anything spectral" and surmised that the interloper wast most likely "a homeless person or another explorer." However, his assessment obviously changed when he reached the top of the stair and found himself alone. "There was no way anybody could’ve got back across the top of the stairs," he marveled, "without Andy seeing as I ran upstairs."
Ironically, Nadin insists that the pair are primarily urban explorers and not paranormal investigators, explaining that "we weren't on the hunt for ghosts and Andy doesn’t even believe in them." Although he did not say if the weird experience caused his cohort to rethink that perspective on the spirit world, one guesses that the potential close encounter with an apparition just might.
