The inside of a volcanic rock found in Brazil sports a stunning pattern of crystals which bear an uncanny resemblance to the iconic Cookie Monster character from Sesame Street. The remarkable gemstone, known as an agate, was reportedly discovered in the Rio Grande do Sul region of the country back in November and was revealed to the world last week by way of a Facebook post from geologist Mike Bowers, who currently owns the odd object.
According to him, there are similar agates that have been found seemingly also featuring the face of the famed furry creature, but "this is probably the most perfect Cookie Monster out there." To that end, he indicated that there may be something of a bidding war for the rock as five potential buyers have contacted him about the gemstone with offers exceeding $10,000 and, with the story of the strange stone going viral, the natural depiction of the legendary Muppet may ultimately win up fetching far more than that.
