Authorities in South Korea arrested a British man who audaciously attempted to scale a 123-story skyscraper without any equipment. The wild incident reportedly unfolded on Monday in the city of Seoul when free-climber George King-Thompson began ascending the Lotte World Tower, which is the sixth-tallest building in the world. He actually managed to make it to the 73rd floor of the skyscraper in approximately one hour before workers convinced him to put an end to the perilous pursuit. Prior to being stopped, the free-climber's antics had drawn considerable attention from authorities, who dispatched a whopping 90 police and emergency personnel to the scene in response.
When King-Thompson finally entered the building, he was subsequently arrested for the daring misadventure and is currently in police custody. Remarkably, he had actually revealed his plans to ascend the Lotte World Tower in a press release issued beforehand and indicated that he hoped to "evade Korean authorities and get on a flight out of the country, immediately after performing the stunt." The incident earlier this week was not the first time that the free-climber has run afoul of the law as he previously spent three months in jail after pulling off a similar feat in which he scaled London's 72-story skyscraper known as The Shard.
