A motorist in Britain captured footage of a large black creature crossing through a field and some suspect that the creature could have been one of the country's mysterious 'alien big cats.' According to a local media report, Paul Oakley spotted the odd animal on Monday morning as he was driving through the town of Sprowston. Confounded by the curious creature, he quickly pulled his car over to the side of the road and began filming the beast with his cell phone from a safe distance as he was afraid to approach the animal due to its size.
"I'm certain it is definitely not a cat because it was far too big," he mused, "I don't think it was a dog either - its tail was the size of the hay bale."With the two most likely suspects eliminated in his mind, Oakley posted the video on social media in the hopes that someone might be able to identify the mystery animal. He was subsequently contacted by an individual who suggested that he had encountered one of England's apocryphal 'alien big cats,' which are sizeable non-native felines believed by some to roam the British countryside, though their existence is debated by experts despite dozens of reports having been recorded over the last decade.
Specifically, Oakley was told that the creature in his video could be a "black leopard." However, a wildlife rescue worker who examined Oakley's footage came to a different conclusion and argued that it is unlikely that he came across anything particularly exotic. "My first impressions is that it is a domestic cat because the tail tip does not curl over enough to be a panther," Kevin Murphy said, noting that "alien big cats would, in their natural behavior usually, seek cover to move around and avoid exposed open areas."
