A Canadian family hoping to catch a glimpse of the Northern Lights wound spotting something far more wondrous when a cluster of curious UFOs appeared in the night sky. The strange sighting reportedly took place this past Friday evening in the city of Kelowna, British Columbia. While gathered with his family on a rooftop patio "waiting for the aurora borealis to show up," witness Bobby Vandenhoorn recalled, "we started seeing those groups of things just flying through the sky really fast." Captivated by what they were seeing, he smartly decided to start filming the puzzling scene and managed to capture some of the sighting as it unfolded.
Although he initially thought that the odd objects were Starlink satellites, Vandenhoorn indicated that the movement of the peculiar lights left him skeptical of that assessment. Noting that the anomalous orbs appeared to cluster together and then move apart while seemingly flying at different altitudes, the witness observed that their flight pattern was "really, really strange." That sense of bewilderment was shared by Vandenhoorn's family as, in the video seen above, his parents can be heard marveling at the astounding sight and offering theories as to the nature of the weird objects that had captured their collective attention.
"We all couldn't really believe that there's just these silent orbs flying through the sky," recounted Vandenhoorn, who conceded that he is still stumped by what they saw on Friday evening. Positing that the objects were not satellites, bids, or an aircraft, he ultimately mused that "I can't think of anything other than something unusual." That said, there is one plausible explanation for the objects missed in that list as the cluster of illuminations could have been lanterns released from somewhere in the city. To that end, assuming that he was not the only person in Kelowna watching the sky on Friday night, Vandenhoorn came forward with his footage in the hopes that someone could solve the mysterious sighting.
