A woman in Washington state suspects that she was visited by some kind of paranormal entity after an eerie figure appeared behind her during a video chat. Lori Simmons was reportedly talking to a friend on an app that records video calls when the weird incident occurred. Their largely unremarkable conversation about Simmons' plans to buy a new bed took a creepy turn when the silhouette of a person seemingly popped up behind her as she moved around her house.
The odd interloper was noticed by her confused friend, who asked if there was anyone else there in the home and the bewilderment turned to concern when Simmons said that she was the only one there. After being alerted to the mysterious stranger in the video, she watched it back on her phone and "my heart jumped into my throat. I couldn’t believe what I was seeing." According to Simmons, the footage was so unsettling that it actually reduced her to tears.
As to what the potential entity may have been, she actually attributed it to a troublemaking ghost musing that "I believe it was the spirit of a teenage boy" trying to give her a scare. That said, she left the door open to an even more fantastic scenario, saying that "it's certainly a possibility" that the figure was an alien. Skeptical viewers, however, have offered up a different take on the video, suggesting that the scene was staged by Simmons herself and that the 'figure' was merely a clever hoax.
