A spooky piece of footage from a notoriously haunted trail in England shows an eerie anomaly which some suspect could be area's resident ghost. The intriguing video was reportedly captured by a man named Rob Wakefield while he was visiting the village of Stansted Mountfitchet. He was inspired to explore the wooded area after he had stopped into a pub and heard that this particular pathway was haunted.
According to local legend, a young man was struck by a train while crossing the tracks and his body was never recovered. It is believed that the unfortunate individual's remains were flung into the nearby river due to the force of the collision. Since that time, area residents say, the spirit of the young man can be seen, from time to time, walking along the pathway and, no doubt, frightening anyone 'lucky' enough to encounter him.
Having learned of this tale, Wakefield ventured down to the pathway in the hopes of possibly spotting the spirit of the apocryphal train accident victim. While his impromptu ghost hunt initially appeared to have been a bust, a later examination of the footage showed something strange that left Wakefield scratching his head. In the video, one can see a shape form in the fog along the path that seems to resemble a figure of some kind.
Some have suggested that Wakefield actually managed to capture a glimpse of the infamous ghost said to lurk along the trail. Skeptics, however, will argue that the 'spirit' is merely a trick of light and shadow created by the fog moving through the air. What's your take on the footage?
