Watch: Ghost Girl Spotted at Site of Mining Disaster in Britain?

By Tim Binnall

A pair of ghost hunters in England captured footage of what they believe to be the spirit of a young girl who perished in a mining disaster. The spooky scene was reportedly filmed late last month by paranormal investigators Linzi and Lee Steer during a visit to a coal mine known as Huskar Pit. The site is rather infamous as, back in 1838, a staggering 26 children working at the site perished when it flooded and they were unable to escape. That tragic incident is what brought the Steers to the chilling location, where they hosted a livestream of their investigation and, in the process, may have inadvertently filmed the spirit of one of the unfortunate youngsters.

While the Steers initially did not think that their ghost hunt had uncovered anything particularly paranormal at the site, they were surprised when they returned home later that day and someone who had been watching the investigation unfold online informed them of an eerie anomaly that they had spotted as the duo explored the area. The unsettling oddity, seen above, appears to be a small wispy figure hovering in front of a tree above a memorial to the children who died in the tragedy. "It looks like a little girl standing there," Linzi marveled, "She looks like she's got a little white dress and I can see a little face. mouth and two eyes. It looks like she's elevated off the floor and she's got bare feet."

Calling the strange sight "bizarre," Linzi declared that "I believe this is 100 per cent a spirit child" and indicated that she would not have believed the scene to be real had it not been captured during a live broadcast of their ghost hunt. " If we put that on Facebook and we weren't live," she mused, "people would say we've edited it. It's amazing." Of course, more skeptical observers will contend that the 'apparition' is merely a trick of light and shadow. What do you think the Steers filmed during their ghost hunt?
