Watch: Ghost Sets Off Alarm at Haunted Restaurant in New Hampshire?

By Tim Binnall

A peculiar piece of security footage from a New Hampshire restaurant shows an eerie mist passing in front of the camera and the proprietors of the establishment marveled that the odd anomaly may be connected to ghosts associated with the building. Sharing the video in a Facebook post on Tuesday morning, the Liberty Restaurant in the city of Portsmouth indicated that the incident had occurred the prior evening under rather unusual circumstances. "For the very first time," they wrote, "our motion detector alarms inside the building were set off by this camera motion caught on video in the dead of night outside the window." What made this event particularly noteworthy, the restaurant explained, is that the interior sensors "cannot see what the camera outside sees."

As for what could have caused the curious fog, which can be seen at approximately 16 seconds in the video, the restaurant observed that it does not appear to be brought about by a passing car or a blowing wind. With those explanations seemingly dismissed, they put forward the possibility that the incident could be paranormal as the establishment is located within a historic hotel that is "well known for its ghosts," including some spirits specifically said to reside in the basement of the eatery. What do you make of the weird footage? Does it show a ghost inadvertently setting off the restaurant's alarm or is it simply a technical glitch made spooky as a result of the building's haunted reputation?
