A spooky piece of footage from England appears to show a ghostly figure sitting on a bench at a war memorial before it vanishes into thin air. The strange scene was reportedly captured by Josh Newton as he and his friend, George Moore, were driving through the town of Northam late one evening last month. As they passed a commemorative site dedicated to soldiers who had died in the two World Wars, the young man filmed a sizeable statue that serves as the centerpiece of the memorial. However, the pair quickly had their attention diverted to an eerie presence that seemed to be on a nearby bench.
"It looked like a really misty figure. It was clear. It was like someone literally sitting there," an astounded Newton recalled, "it was definitely a male figure so it very well could have been the ghost of a soldier." The bewildered witness went on to explain that, as he was trying to come to grips with what was before him, the suspected apparition simply vanished into thin air. ""I was shocked. I looked and I didn't know what I saw," he sad,. "and then I looked at the video and I thought 'no, something was there and now it's just gone.'" In the footage captured by Newton, (seen above), what appears to be some kind of mist-like anomaly can, indeed, be seen briefly materializing into the shape of a figure before disappearing.
Previously a skeptic of the paranormal, Newton says that he is now a full-fledged believer thanks to what he believes was a genuine ghost sighting. Echoing what many fortunate witnesses to the paranormal say, he marveled that "I'm glad I got it on film, because nobody would have believed me." To that end, not everyone is convinced that the two young men stumbled upon a spirit at the war memorial as some dubious observers argue that the 'ghost' is merely a trick of light and shadow.
