Watch: Legendary Lake Monster Filmed in Idaho?

By Tim Binnall

A family in Idaho could not believe their eyes when they spotted a mysterious creature swimming in a lake and some suspect that it could be a legendary 'monster' that is said to live at the location. According to a local media report, the curious incident occurred earlier this month as the unnamed vacationers were visiting the state's picturesque Payette Lake in the community of McCall. In a video of the peculiar encounter (seen above), as a pair of people from their party prepared to jump from a cliff into the water, a person set to film their leap suddenly shouts "what is that" in reference to a sizeable anomaly seemingly swimming below them.

Despite being fairly close to the creature, which is causing bubbles to rise to the surface of the water, none of the astonished witnesses are able to identify the aquatic oddity. Understandably unsettled by what they are seeing, one of the concerned family members actually wonders if it could capsize their boat, while the pair of would-be divers smartly decide that they rather not tempt fate by jumping into the lake while the weird animal is swimming there. As for what the mysterious creature could have been, some have suggested that it could be 'Sharlie,' a legendary serpent-like 'monster' that has long been rumored to live Payette Lake.
