Florida firefighters were left scratching their heads after a mysterious chunk of ice plummeted from the sky and pierced the roof of a home. The weird incident reportedly occurred on Monday afternoon in the city of Palm Coast. "We responded to the report of ice falling from the sky," fire chief Kyle Berryhill recalled, "that's a new one for us." When emergency personnel arrived on the scene, they were surprised to find a sizeable hole in the metal roof of the home and frosty debris scattered around the residence.
Fortunately, no one was injured by the falling ice as, had someone been struck by the mysterious plummeting chunk, the blow could have been fatal. Officials with the Federal Aviation Administration are investigating the case in the hopes of determining the origin of the object that is believed to have been a staggering six feet long and three feet wide before it impacted the house. The incident on Monday is not the first instance of mysterious falling ice causing destruction as similar events occurred in Massachusetts and Australia in 2023 and another Florida home was struck in 2021.
