A Scottish man was left scratching his head when he spotted a strange floating object which he likened to an angelic humanoid. The puzzling sighting reportedly occurred earlier this month in the town of Prestwick as Matthew Gowans left his house in the morning to go to work and noticed something unusual hovering in the sky. "If it had been moving, I wouldn’t have paid it much mind," he recalled, "I probably would've assumed it was just a balloon or something, but the fact that it appeared to be completely still was what prompted me to record it."
After filming the small white object for a few seconds, Gowans took a moment to check the footage on his phone and, much to his chagrin, discovered that the anomaly had vanished when he looked back up at the sky. "I still have no idea what it could've been," he mused, "if you use your imagination a bit, it almost appears humanoid, maybe even angelic." Despite that fantastic suggestion, Gowans had a largely pragmatic perspective on the sighting, conceding that "it's probably a trick of the light, but it's like nothing I've ever seen before."
Upon posting the footage online, Gowans heard from a few people who claimed to have also seen the peculiar floating object that very morning, but no one could quite explain what it was. Among the theories put forward by viewers were that the UFO was a cloud, a weather balloon, or a plane. Though the young man indicated that "personally I don't think it's any of those things," he was also reticent to suggest it was extraterrestrial in nature as, he argued, the universe is so enormous that "I think the chances that aliens have made it all the way to Earth, or even been made aware of us, are slim."
