A curious piece of footage from Mexico shows a UFO seemingly launching into the sky from the side of a volcano that some suspect is a secret alien base. The remarkable moment was reportedly captured early Monday morning by a webcam watching over the Popocatepetl volcano in the state of Puebla. In the footage (seen above), some kind of glowing cylindrical object emerges from volcano's base and ascends into the sky in a straight line, leaving a slight trail behind it in the sky. Sharing the peculiar scene on social media, prominent Mexican ufologist Jaime Maussan suggested that the odd object was a transmedium UFO "undoubtedly of non-human origin."
The Popocatepetl volcano has long interested UFO enthusiasts as the webcam observing the site has previously picked up peculiar objects that appear to either fly into, over, or, in this case, away from the location. The frequency of such intriguing incidents has led many to speculate that perhaps the volcano is some kind of alien base. That said, more skeptical observers argue that the anomalies seen around the site are not ETs traveling to and from a clandestine settlement, but simply satellites that look otherworldly due to the way in which the webcam films the night sky.
