Watch: Well-Crafted Halloween Display Sparks False Fire Alarm in Upstate New York

Firefighters dispatched to battle what appeared to be a massive blaze at a home in Upstate New York wound up being amazed when they discovered that the inferno was actually just a remarkably well-crafted Halloween display. The odd incident reportedly occurred this past Saturday evening in the city of Glens Falls when emergency service personnel were alerted to "a confirmed structure fire" unfolding in the community. To any observers outside of the residence, the concerned call was understandable since, as can be seen in the video above, both floors of the home seemed to be engulfed in flames.

Recounting the unusual incident on their Facebook page later that evening, the Glens Falls Fire Department wrote that, when their crew arrived on the seen to extinguish the blaze, they were surprised to learn that the inferno was actually "an amazing Halloween decoration." They went on to explain that the realistic scene was created using "two LED lights, a box fan, a silver sheet" and a smoke machine. Fortunately, it would appear that the homeowner did not get into any trouble for inadvertently causing the false fire alarm as the department indicated that the blaze "will be up Friday and Saturday nights for the public's entertainment until the end of the month."
