NASA's James Webb Space Telescope has taken a dazzling image of Uranus. The new view was captured by Webb's Near-Infrared Camera (NIRCam) on February 6, 2023, and shows bright features in the planet's atmosphere as well as 11 of the ice giant's 13 rings. Nine of the rings are considered the main rings of Uranus, and the other two are faint dusty rings that were not discovered until the 1986 flyby of Voyager 2. A wider view of the the planetary system also shows six of Uranus' 27 known moons.
