A series of suspected Sasquatch prints found in a Welsh forest have been revealed as fake after the creator of the curious impressions stepped forward to explain their origin. The mysterious markings as well as a nearby stick structure also attributed to Bigfoot (seen in the video below) made headlines last week after it was reported that a crew of filmmakers and Bigfoot researchers had stumbled upon them while exploring a wooded area of Caerphilly Mountain. While there was some understandable skepticism surrounding the peculiar discoveries, the curious case remained open until this past weekend when a British cryptozoologist shared what he claims is the true story of the strange 'evidence' found in the forest.
"You can't imagine my surprise when I saw the news," Andy McGrath reportedly marveled to a British media outlet, "they had used the joke footprint that we made while filming a comedy segment" about an apocryphal wildman said to reside on Caerphilly Mountain. The cryptozoologist indicated that the stick structure was also the work of the production team as the bit also featured a "comical take on a bushcrafting shelter being Bigfoot's house." Intriguingly, McGrath mused that "I can't imagine how they got leaked out," which would seem to suggest that the photos had been forwarded to the media along with a fantastic backstory, rather than having actually been discovered in the first place.
