Bill Chappell spent his career as an engineer in the robotics and semiconductor industries. He also taught college courses in microprocessor design and C programming. He uses microprocessors and electronics to solve complex problems, designing devices from articulated motion control to satellite telemetry experiments. At the age of 47, Bill was asked if he could build a device to communicate with the dead. At first he thought the whole idea was amusing, but he was willing to play along. Then, on April 23, 2007, he tested his first prototype device at the haunted Waverly Hills Sanatorium in Louisville, Kentucky. This date would forever alter his life and perspective on the paranormal.
Since then, Chappell launched Digital Dowsing, LLC where he sells some of the 40-plus devices and applications hes developed to try and establish further evidence of paranormal claims. Devices like the Ovilus, Paranormal Puck, the PX, and EM Vortex have become part of the modern-day paranormal investigator lexicon. You may have seen his equipment used on Ghost Adventures on the Travel Channel, Syfy, Paranormal State on A&E, and countless other programs and documentaries.
