Having raised more than $300 million for PBS over the last 20 years, veteran producer T. J. Lubinsky has produced over a hundred specials chronicling the rich, diverse —and too often ignored— legacy of popular music. Working from a canvas that stretches from the ‘50s to the ‘80s, the self-confessed “record-collecting fanatic”(Over 10,000 45rpm singles and compact discs) has brought back to the forefront a wide range of acts encompassing everything from doo wop and R&B to folk, pop, British Invasion, disco, and big band. His programs include 70s Soul Superstars, Magic Moments, Get Down Tonight: The Disco Years, My Generation: The 60s Experience, Funky Soul Superstars, and Motown: The Early Years.
