Synthetic Chemicals & Mutations

Date

Hosted byGeorge Noory

Appearing in the middle two hours, investigative reporter Randall Fitzgerald presented an update on the problems synthetic chemicals are causing for living creatures and the environment. Migrating into the water supply, toxic chemicals have been found in locations as far away as the Arctic, where they have been detected in the blood of polar bears and fish.

Combinations of chemicals, which can include synthetic hormones, are linked to increasing mutations and reproductive disorders in a wide range of species, Fitzgerald reported. The disappearing honey bee problem may be related to exposure to pesticides which weakens the bees' immune systems, he suggested. In the United States, cancer rates have risen while men's sperm counts have gone down, he added.

He also expressed concern over bottled water supplies-- shipping containers aren't regulated for heat, and chemicals from the plastic of the bottles could leach into the water.

The last hour of the show featured Open Lines.

CIA Release

First hour guest, researcher Richard Dolan reported on a recent CIA release of information. It's a newly-declassified version of a memo first released 30 years ago with substantially fewer excisions and contains some data about UFOs, he noted.
