Conjuring Happiness / Quantum Thinking

Hosted byGeorge Noory

In the first half, writer and spiritual teacher Maureen St. Germain discussed how we are equipped to achieve success, love, and happiness, and be our own "genie." The genie represents knowledge or skills that we don't have, and in the Arabian stories, once the genie is out of the bottle, bad things could happen. This negative aspect was used to keep people from attaining knowledge or power on their own, but once that info is out, it can't go back in the bottle, she commented. The first step of being your own genie is to hold your desired outcome in your thoughts as being equally believable with your current life situation, she maintains.

One helpful exercise she referred to as a "twofer," in which every time you have a negative thought, you think of two positive thoughts-- this has an effect kind of like noise canceling headphones. Another approach is to give yourself permission to simultaneously hold two different versions of reality, one of which may have difficulties, and another that is an idealized or infused with a positive outcome. St. Germain also talked about a method to manifest goals, in which the person imagines how they would feel when they have already achieved the goal, rather than focusing on the goal itself.

In the latter half, consultant to business executives and entrepreneurs, Dianne Collins, shared how she specializes in using science and spirituality to help individuals break free from limiting ideas and take control of their minds and their lives using what she calls "quantum thinking." Everything begins with thought, and thoughts contribute to our reality, but most people are still under the scientific materialism world view that only matter is real, she noted. Many are unaware that there are five natural faculties of mind, including the Power of Observation (intent), the Power of Non-location (intuition), and the Power of Meditation (awareness), Collins outlines.

She differentiated quantum thinking from positive thinking, explaining that with positive thinking people are often covering over their fixed reality, pretending that a negative or old way of thought is not there. But with quantum thinking, you realize there is no fixed way or absolute reality, and you can take control of how you want to perceive your situation or "resonant field." One exercise that illustrates this is writing down your old world/habitual world view (your current thoughts) and looking at the theme the emerges, she continued. In your new world view, you can create a conscious relationship with your thoughts, removing feelings that are holding you back, and replacing them with more useful ideations.
