Matt Richtel is a Pulitzer Prize-winning New York Times reporter and bestselling author. In the first half, he delved into the mysteries of human creativity and exciting new research from across the world, and offered insights from some of the world's great creators. Beyond just art, creativity takes place across a wide spectrum, including business and entrepreneurial efforts, and one doesn't need to have a high IQ to excel at it. He referenced Shafica Karagulla's (George's aunt) book "Breakthrough to Creativity," which explored how new ideas come from the subconscious and how the mind can access them. Written in the 1960s, some of her concepts are now being demonstrated in science and scholarship, he noted.
Research shows that a lot of creativity happens when people's minds are wandering, and they aren't thinking about the particular topic that is pressing them. The relaxed hypnagogic state (between waking and sleeping) is especially fertile for coming up with new ways of thinking or inspiration, he cited. Children are naturally in touch with their creativity and imagination, but by the time they hit 4th grade, this is reduced because of rules and people in their lives frequently saying 'no' to them, he reported. Richtel also shared intriguing findings that showed creative people are sometimes viewed negatively by others because they're shaking up the status quo.

Professional spiritual medium Carole J. Obley has communicated with souls who have crossed into the spirit world through thousands of private and group sessions. In the latter half, she talked about such topics as the nature of the soul, spiritual frequencies, and her interactions with otherworldly entities. She explained that spiritual frequency could be thought of as the level of awareness a person has of their soul identity. The soul, Obley continued, can be viewed as the divine consciousness within each individual. "We are eternal beings with unlimited consciousness," and when people realize that, it really puts their life in perspective, she added.
We are also members of different 'soul groups,' she said, and these groups often incarnate together with specific themes or roles, such as teachers or healers. Through her readings, she has caught glimpses of what life is like on the Other Side, "and I can tell you that the...souls there are really much more alive than we are here," as their multi-level environment is highly vibrant, Obley revealed. In earthly locations, she has occasionally seen unusual materializations such as a cloud of smoky ectoplasm that emerged from a wall, and a female Shadow Person who showed up repeatedly in the same place. During the last hour, she gave readings for callers.
