Author Paul Koudounaris holds a PhD in Art History from UCLA and specializes in the visual culture of death. He'll discuss memorials to pets and the history of how various cultures have paid last respects to animal companions. The death of a pet is one of the most emotionally difficult forms of mourning, and Paul will talk about why people often feel alone in their grief at a pet's passing or struggle to find a way to give them the love and dignity they deserve in death. Followed by Open Lines in the latter half.
