A 1972 Pulitzer Prize winner, the late Jack Anderson is considered one of the fathers of modern investigative journalism. 78 years old at the time of this broadcast, Anderson joined Art to discuss his storied career as a newsman and columnist. He described how he sometimes needed to protect himself from people he exposed with his reporting, recalling his coverage of FBI director J. Edgar Hoover.
Anderson also related his investigation of the Nixon White House and the notorious G. Gordon Liddy, and expressed his admiration for President Reagan. Of his long career, Anderson concluded, “I was always in trouble, or at least I tried to be.”
Anderson shared his theory about the JFK assassination, which involved cooperation between the Cubans and the Mafia. He also went into detail about his feelings on UFOs and aliens.
