Dr. Mike Heiser is an expert in ancient languages, texts, and religions, particularly the Hebrew Bible and the ancient Near East. He spoke with Art about his problems with the theories of Zecharia Sitchin (he thinks Sitchin mistranslated the texts he referenced in his '12th Planet' books.)
Heiser pondered the impact on mainstream religions and belief systems if an ET presence became known, which he explores in his novel, The Facade. He has concluded that UFOs and aliens are inter-dimensional rather than extraterrestrial, and cited ancient texts as well as the Bible to bolster his hypothesis. He is also a proponent of the theory that using holy words can stop alien abductions.
