M. R. Franks is a life member of the Royal Astronomical Society of Canada and has belonged to that organization since 1957. His interest in quantum physics and cosmology dates back to his childhood. Professor Franks studied astronomy at Northwestern University's Dearborn Observatory under Dr. Karl Henize--later astronaut Karl Henize. The author has for many years also been a serious student of philosophy.
M. R. Franks is presently a law professor. He formerly served as professeur associe de droit at l'Universite de Cergy-Pontoise, Paris, France. A licensed airline transport pilot as well, Professor Franks holds his Bachelor of Science and Juris Doctor degrees from the University of Memphis.Astronomy and quantum physics have been his lifelong avocation.
