Over the past 15 years, Mark Gorton has founded a diverse constellation of finance and technology companies, including Lime Brokerage, Fluent Medical, Lime Wire, and Open Plans, a non-profit dedicated to realizing the potential of open-source software with a focus on urban transportation policy. Prior to founding Tower in 1998, Mark worked as a fixed income proprietary trader at Credit Suisse First Boston, where he was the most profitable and most consistently profitable trader in his group. He began his career at Martin Marietta (now part of Lockheed Martin) where he specialized in digital signal processing and speech recognition.
Mark graduated magna cum laude from Yale University with a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering. He also earned a master's degree in electrical engineering from Stanford University and an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School. Quite by accident he took a passing interest in the assassination of JFK. His research took him on a path into the dark underbelly of the CIA, and from there, he traced a web of criminality that ran throughout the huge sections of federal government, the political power structure, and the business interests that control our country. His research led to his essay "Fifty Years of the Deep State."
