Dr. David Penchansky

Biography:

Dr. David Penchansky, teaches Hebrew Bible at the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul Minnesota. He has published four books, most recently Twilight of the Gods which argues that polytheism holds a major role in the Hebrew Bible, and What Rough Beast?, which considers stories in the Bible that portray God as a demon. Dr. Penchansky grew up in Queens, New York. He graduated from Queens College, City University of New York, the Assemblies of God Graduate School and Vanderbilt University, where he received a Ph.D. in Hebrew Bible. He wrote his dissertation about the Book of Job.
