Dr. Cyril Wecht

Biography:

Dr. Cyril Wecht, M.D., J.D. lives in Pittsburgh, PA, where he served as County Coroner, and was a past president of the American Academy of Forensic Sciences. He currently directs the Cyril H. Wecht Institute of Forensic Science and Law, founded in 2000 at Duquesne University. Dr. Wecht was the founding president of the Coalition on Political Assassinations in 1994. He also did exhaustive early forensic work on the murder of President Kennedy, and was given special access to autopsy photographs and X-rays as part of a forensic panel in the 1970s.

An expert in Forensic Medicine, Dr. Wecht has performed over 14,000 autopsies, and frequently appears on national programs discussing various medicolegal and forensic scientific issues, including the assassinations of both President John F. Kennedy and Senator Robert F. Kennedy.
