Iraq & OBEs

About the show

Thursday night's first half featured war analysis with former UNSCOM weapons inspector Bill Tierney, while the latter two hours of the show delved into the mind with OBE expert William Buhlman.

"Ultimately it comes down to a gut check because often the intelligence is not there," Tierney (wfxt@earthlink.net) said about the search for Saddam. Tierney, who is fluent in Arabic and worked as an interpreter/interrogator at Camp X-Ray Guantanamo Bay, commented on the Fedayeen, a fierce brigade under the command of Uday Hussein (Saddam's son). He said that while some are "weekend warriors," many in this unit have undergone rigorous training. They are capable of being worked up into a frenzy where they might grab a wild dog and eat it he said. Tierney also outlined why he believes the 9-11 attacks can be traced back to Iraq.

An internal vibration like that of a jet engine could be the first clue that you are about to have an out-of-body experience (OBE) said William Buhlman, the second guest of the evening. He believes one of the keys to being able to have an OBE is to persevere in the practice of an exercise (such as visualization) for at least 30 days in a row. Buhlman described the "target technique" as one such exercise, where a person visualizes touching three known objects that exist at one location outside your home, while laying down in a meditative mode.

"I'm lying in bed but my hand actually entered the wall...My hand is a mass of blue stars," Buhlman said of his first OBE. "You can connect with things far beyond our mental capacity...¦You find yourself going to other realities. There are no limits," he said of the expansive state.
