Author Lloyd Pye appeared on Wednesday night's show discussing his investigation into the "Starchild" skull (images and animations are on the starchildproject site). The 900-year-old skull has many unusual properties, which has led Pye to suspect it may be an alien hybrid. The skull is "half as thin but twice as dense as regular bone," Pye said, adding that it also contains a larger brain cavity and shallower eye sockets, which specialists have not been able to correlate with any known deformities.

Pye reported on a recent round of DNA tests done on the skull and a human female skull found with it (they had been buried together in a Mexican cave). Geneticists said the two were not related, ruling out an earlier mother/son hypothesis, but indicated they were both of Meso-American origin. Pye said another set of DNA tests is planned for the Starchild skull which can reveal information from the father's side (the current tests showed only data from the maternal side). He hopes to announce the new findings at Los Angeles and Orange County MUFON meetings in July.

"The father in all likelihood is a grey rather than an Annunaki," Pye said of the type of alien he thinks could have sired the Starchild. He referred to the current "harvesting" reports by alien abductees as a possibly similar type of hybridization. Further, Pye believes that genetic tinkering on humans dating back eons has been conducted by aliens. He cited as evidence the over 4,000 genetic defects in our original gene pool that could only happen "if they were put there by somebody in the process of cutting and splicing genes in order to create us."
