  • About the show

Friday's show featured a special topic hotline, for people that "speak with the dead." One woman told a tale of eating a hamburger with her father in a truck stop, knowing full well that he was in spirit form. Another caller talked about how the ability to speak with the deceased ran in her family. A Canadian caller spoke about her friend, who had the ability to communicate with those who had passed over, and offered this service as a comfort to people who had lost loved ones.

What Open Lines show would be complete without a Ouija board story? A man told of using the board with a female co-worker, and how the pointer seemed to be moving of its own accord. It warned that there was going to be a murder in the future. The man lost touch with the woman over the years, but in speaking with his old employer, he found out that the woman's daughter had been murdered. She was buried alive in the desert, he said.

    Knights of the Golden Circle

First hour guest, Warren Getler, the co-author of Shadow of the Sentinel, discussed the Knights of the Golden Circle (KGC), a subversive group of Southerners who were active around the time of the Civil War (the outlaw Jesse James was said to be a member). Getler talked about Bob Brewer's search for the treasures of gold that were allegedly buried by the KGC. Getler described the group as "the American extension of the Knights Templar," and said they were behind political machinations such as both the election and assassination of Lincoln.

    Friday's Second Hour

Surveillance specialist Douglas Hagmann appeared in the second hour of Friday's show, discussing a rumor that Osama bin Laden has been captured. Hagmann believes there is some validity to the rumor, and that the capture could have been a "grab and go operation" that took place in southern Iran.

Richard Hoagland of Enterprise Mission also appeared in Friday's second hour. Speaking about the computer problems that the Spirit Rover was experiencing, Hoagland suggested that the system could be plagued by two separate programs giving it directions, and that one of them was of black ops origin.
