Nine Lives Hotline

About the show

George Noory hosted a special Thanksgiving Eve of Open Lines, which featured a Nine Lives Hotline. Among the callers was a man who said he has so far survived being crushed by a semi, knocked out in a fight, drinking Drano, and the 1989 San Francisco earthquake. Deb told of her husband Carl, who fell out of 60 ft. tree and later was shot in the head while working as a corrections officer. After recovering from being in a coma he was hit by lightning, and lived through a deep axe cut in his head because a plastic plate had been placed in his skull after the shooting.

Other callers included a blind man who said he was an expert marksman. He compared his skill in hitting targets with how a submarine navigates, and explained that he incorporates gravity and body position.

Hayabusa Update

First hour guest Richard C. Hoagland of Enterprise Mission presented an update on the Japanese probe Hayabusa landing on an asteroid. The probe may have already acquired material from the asteroid that became stuck to it during its touchdown, said Hoagland. He warned that care should be taken upon the craft's return as the material might carry diseases we would have no defense against.
