  • About the show

During Open Lines, Ian offered a 'deathbed confessions' hotline for callers who wanted to share their own or someone else's final revelations.

Jim, a healthcare professional in Cleveland, shared a deathbed confession told to him by a detective who had investigated the Sam Sheppard murder case. The detective told Jim that Sheppard, who was eventually acquitted of his wife's murder, likely swam over a mile into Lake Erie to get rid of the golf club that he had used to bludgeon his wife to death.

In the third hour, Ian played an audio clip in which former CIA agent and Watergate conspirator E. Howard Hunt discussed what he knew about the JFK assassination. (An excerpt can be heard at saintjohnhunt.com.) Later, Bob phoned in to tell Ian that his father had worked with E. Howard Hunt and may have also known who killed President Kennedy.

    Lindbergh Baby Update

Starting in the last half of the first hour, Ian spoke with Charles A. Lindbergh Jr., a man who has come to believe that he is the missing son of world famous aviator Charles Lindbergh. According to Lindbergh Jr., there is "overwhelming evidence" to support his claim, including results from a DNA test that showed he shares the same mother as Reeve Lindbergh, Charles Lindbergh's daughter. Lindbergh Jr. said he is now trying to get another DNA sample from the Lindbergh family that will allow him to establish for certain that Charles Lindbergh is his father.
