The Quest for Time Travel

About the show

Professor Ronald Mallett spoke about the feasibility of time travel, overcoming its limitations, and his plans to build a time machine. After the early death of his father, he became obsessed with the idea of creating a time machine so he could go back and see him.

He suggested that gravity can be thought of as a medium rather than a force. Black holes control gravity, and if a person was close enough to one, their experience of hours could represent years back on Earth, he explained. His concept for a time machine centers around the idea that a circulating laser beam can cause a twisting of space and time, looping the past and future together. The early stages of such a machine would just be able to send subatomic particles, he noted.

Mallett announced that Spike Lee will co-write and direct Time Traveler, a feature film based on his memoir, which chronicles his rise from poverty to distinguished scientist. More on the project here.

Roswell Rock Circle

First hour guest, UFO investigator Chuck Zukowski discussed the 'Roswell Rock Circle,' an artifact found in 2004, which has unusual magnetic properties (see video). The image on the rock mirrors the design of a 1996 crop circle. Click here to view more photos, and here to read a report from the Roswell Daily Record.
