In the first hour, George spoke with researcher Dianne Arcangel about afterlife encounters. Arcangel shared results from a past internet-based survey. That survey asked participants if they had experienced ecstacy either during or after an afterlife encounter. According to Arcangel, 1,075 out of 1,200 Coast listeners answered in the affirmative.
Arcangel also explained why some people experience after death communications and others do not. She said there are three groups that tend to be more open to the experience: those who are iNtuitive Feeling (on the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator assessment), those identified by the Roper Organization as 'Influential Americans,' and those who are spiritually engaged. Arcangel invited the Coast audience to participate in her latest surveys at her website.
At the start of the second hour, Steve Gregory of KFI AM 640 reported on the O.J. Simpson verdict. Simpson was found guilty on all 12 counts stemming from a confrontation in a hotel room last year, including armed robbery and kidnapping. For the remainder of the show, George hosted Open Lines and offered a different special hotline for each hour. Callers discussed their scariest moments, strange last names, and predictions for the rest of the year.
