  • About the show

Anthropologist, author, and primary investigator of the Early Man sites in Ethiopia, Hank Wesselman discussed how shamanism can be used for accessing the realms of spirit, and gave an update on discoveries in anthropology. His new book + CD, Awakening to the Spirit World, co-authored with Sandra Ingerman, explores shamanic techniques such as listening to drumming to enter trance states. He spoke about the prophecies of Black Elk, a Native American shaman, who believed we were entering the end of a cycle, and with this ending a "primordial spirituality will reestablish itself, and it will be on this foundation that the next cycle of ages will begin again."

In a trance state, shamans are able to perceive the world of the hidden, and see "transpersonal forces" that traditional people call spirit, Wesselman explained. He shared some of his own encounters with spirit beings such as seeing a large spotted entity in Africa, which disappeared as though into a wrinkle in the air, a 15-20 ft. being that lifted him up and gently twirled him in space, and a jinn that shared detailed information with him in Egypt.

Wesselman talked about his research in Ethiopia into the recently revealed four and a half million year old hominid fossilized skeleton called Ardipithecus ramidus, nicknamed 'Ardi.' The skeleton, which is 1.5 million years older than Lucy, is about 4 ft. tall and has both human & ape elements. Ardi could turn out to be the "holy grail of anthropology," the famous missing link between humans and apes, he commented.

    Dealing with Earthbound Spirits

First hour guest, ghostbuster Mary Ann Winkowski joined George in the studio to talk about her encounters with earthbound spirits-- the deceased who haven't crossed over into the light. If you have such spirits in your home, there could be trouble with electronic equipment, things might show up in odd places, and residents could have upper respiratory problems and headaches, she detailed.
