Secret History of North America

About the show

Scott Wolter is the host of Discovery Channel's "America Unearthed." While working his "day job" as a world-renowned forensic geologist and the president of the Minnesota-based American Petrographic Services, Wolter began developing a new science called archaeopetrography–a scientific process used to date and understand the origins of mysterious stone artifacts and sites. The first artifact he studied using this new science was the Kensington Rune Stone, which he believes is an authentic, pre-Columbian record of a land claim carved in America by none other than the Knights Templar and dated 1362. Wolter referred to the stone as "the initial stake in the ground" of Christians in the New World.

Joining Jimmy Church (email) for the entire four hours, Wolter said that he "started with a blank slate" in his research into the dating and identification of the stone. He learned that certain documents and artifacts were hidden in North America sometime in the first century, AD, which were found, Wolter says, by an expedition of the Knights Templar, who he says were the most wealthy and powerful group in the world at the time. Wolter reported that this "first international bank" hid some of their secrets and treasures throughout the North American continent by the 10th century.

The historical accuracy of these events was hinted at, he said, by the 1968 discovery of a sealed brass artifact discovered in the Hudson River which contained clues and descriptions of the expedition. Using these and other indicators, the scholarly group that had formed around the artifacts were able to find an ancient tomb in the Catskill Mountains of New York. This proved to them that the events and secrets recounted in the brass container, as well as a report of the trip which was presented to the Templar authorities in 1180 in a small collection of papers known as the "Cremona documents," were based in verifiable fact.

Wolter also believes that the Templars shared a veneration of the divine feminine with the ancient people of North America, which is why they were able to travel so freely and cooperate with the indigenous people of the continent. Further, he suggested that much of this interaction and history is contained in the writings of the aristocratic Scotsman Earl Henry Sinclair, begun in 1353 and passed down for 15 generations. Wolter says that the accounts given in this document match perfectly with the reports and artifacts to the extent that he believes that it is "99% real" and carried out by elements of the Templar/ Masonic tradition. Wolter concluded that "we have to reconnect with the Templar ideals that our founding fathers picked up on" in order to heal the nation.
