Tales of the Afterlife / Open Lines

About the show

Award winning journalist and filmmaker Rich Martini joined George Noory to explore various aspects of the afterlife, including councils, Akashic records, and how to contact departed loved ones. Martini recalled the time psychic medium James Van Praagh provided convincing details of his contact with late actress Luana Anders. "That was really the first moment I realized, oh my gosh, my friend... still exists," he admitted. Those on the Flipside describe a lifetime as a blueprint which can be placed atop other blueprints, or lifetimes, to see how they affect each other, Martini explained, noting we are the architects of our lifetimes.

There are councils beyond the veil made up of three to as many as fifteen members who provide guidance for the living, he continued. The council members have different guises when they appear to their charges but to each other they look like pure light, Martini added. The Flipside is also home to a library containing everyone's lifetimes, known as the Akashic records. "You can access all of your lifetimes by going there with your librarian," he revealed. According to Martini, there are many on the other side waiting for their chance to get back to Earth for another life. He shared a two-step process for contacting the dearly departed. First, say their name, then ask a question, Martini instructed. You'll know you have connected to them when you get an answer before you complete a question, he disclosed.

Open Lines followed in the latter half of the program. Lou Ann in Franklin, Pennsylvania, shared a remarkable experience she had at her grandmother's funeral. She prefaced her story by telling George her mother had passed away suddenly at 49 years old. Lou Ann was in the final weeks of a pregnancy and unable to travel to attend her mother's funeral. Sometime later, Lou Ann's grandmother passed away. "At the graveside ceremony I was hugging my Aunt Dorothy and I felt my mother, and I pulled away from Aunt Dorothy and I saw my mother's face in [my aunt's] body," she recalled.

Scott from Miami, Florida, shared his theories about COVID-19 and the toll it has taken on American freedoms and the economy. "Main street has been completely destroyed by all these phony shutdowns and quarantines," he suggested. According to Scott, the pandemic is merely a smokescreen for the one percent to begin killing off the other 99 percent.

Dory in Charlotte, North Carolina, recounted the time she brought home two kittens and her then 24-year-old cat wanted nothing to do with them. Dory asked her older cat to look out for them and eventually he began raising them until he died. According to Dory, he remained with her in the house to help look out for the kittens, even as one was dying, and he is still there to this day.

The final half hour featured a replay from 4/7/2016 featuring psychic Anthony Carr on renowned magician Harry Houdini.
