Alternative Health / A Paranormal Life

About the show

In the first half, Dr. Joel Wallach shared alternative health approaches and the benefits of remedies and supplements that assist in the body's recovery from many diseases and ailments. On the topic of gallstones, he suggested they were caused by the liver not getting the nutrients it needs to do its work and make proper use of the gall bladder. He recommended a supplement composed of dried bile from cow gall bladders, which helps improve liver function. For a listener complaining of shingles (a viral disease), he advised putting colloidal silver on Q-tips or cotton balls and placing on the affected areas.

For combating tendinitis (related to connective tissue found throughout the body), Wallach believes one should eliminate oils, gluten, and carbonated beverages from one's diet, and supplement with MSM and collagen peptides, which can help strengthen connective tissues. Regarding cystic fibrosis, he has concluded that it's not a genetic disease but rather due to nutritional deficiencies. Speaking with a caller seeking health supplements to battle cancer, he commented that Reishi mushrooms have shown promise.

Brian J. Cano , a featured analyst for Travel Channel's "Paranormal Caught On Camera," made his debut on the show in the latter half. A former skeptic in the paranormal, after spending nearly 20 years in the field, he changed his perspective about not only the paranormal but life and the big picture. Cano, who also worked on the "Haunted Collector" TV show with John Zaffis, said he'd seen a variety of apparitions over the years-- shadow forms, lights forms, and mists, as well as been touched, pushed, and scratched by unseen entities.

One incident, when he was staying overnight at a rural Pennsylvania home, was the most terrifying, however. He heard something scratching at the window and then saw a disembodied hand reach through the window and pull the curtain back. This was followed by a foul-mouthed voice that threatened him. He pointed out that some imaginary figures like Slenderman (who first appeared in fictional 'Creepypasta' stories online) almost seem to take on a life of their own when many people become attracted to the mythos. Cano also talked about his History of the Paranormal Mobile Exhibit, which travels to various states and includes immersive displays (like an EVP listening station and an ESP testing table).
