Dreamwork / Open Lines

About the show

Robert Moss is a best-selling novelist and creator of Active Dreaming, an original synthesis of dreamwork and shamanism. In the first half of the show, Moss discussed his work on dreaming, precognitive dreams, and dream interpretation. According to Moss, we need the tools that dreaming can provide for us. "We find resources that can help us with basic survival, put us in touch with purpose, give us a way of connecting with other people... in dreaming you can travel without leaving home," he explained.

Moss described dreaming as a kind of travel where one can make visits and receive visitations from others. Dreams are not merely aspects of the self, he added. "Dreaming is a condition in which consciousness is released from the ordinary limits of the body and the brain — we get out there and we have experiences in other worlds," Moss said.

Dreams also allow dreamers to see into the future, so they can adjust decisions to head either toward or away from possible futures. Moss revealed how he avoided probable death on the road three times in his life because he dreamed of car accidents and took action to avoid them. Everyone can see elements of the future in dreams, he revealed, noting how our intuitive radar tends to come alive in precognitive dreams because we drop left brain inhibitions.

Open Lines followed in the latter half of the program. Rita from Aurora, Colorado, shared her theory about missing people. She referenced a biblical story from chapter 16 of the book of Numbers which describes the earth opening up, swallowing people, and closing again. Rita also mentioned the biblical character Enoch who the book of Genesis said "walked with God: and he was no more; for God took him." Rita suggested that the hundreds of thousands of people who disappear each year may have been taken up or punished by God.

Carlos in San Francisco asked George if there had ever been a Coast to Coast program featuring Patty Hearst, who was kidnapped in 1974 by the Symbionese Liberation Army. He also requested a show with any of the participants of the 1971 Stanford Prison Experiment, which set up participants as "inmates" or "guards," and found people readily conformed to their expected social roles. "Both of these are great ideas," George said.

Rick from North Carolina phoned in to talk about Skinwalker Ranch. Rick said he had recently watched a television show about the mysterious property known for paranormal and UFO activity, and saw something that sparked his curiosity. There was a laptop on a table at the property which showed a frequency analyzer, he reported. Rick wondered what frequency was showing on the laptop and how it could relate to the strange activity at the ranch.

The final half hour featured a replay of hypnotherapist Dolores Cannon talking about ETs, other dimensions, and portals.
