In the first half, Captain Paul Watson, marine wildlife conservation and environmental specialist, spoke about the future of the planet's oceans and what he meant when he said, "If things don't change, life in the sea dies, and if the ocean dies, we die." We cannot live on this planet without certain species, and they're all interdependent, he emphasized. The oceans have been overfished "through highly mechanized industrialized fishing operations," he reported. For instance, there are $100 million fishing vessels designed to catch what is left of the scarce population. "And when you spend that kind of money to build a ship, you have to catch a lot of fish in order to pay off your debt to the banks. And it's a vicious circle," he lamented.

Watson talked about his efforts to protect whales, which extend back to the 1970s. A lot of progress has been made, he said, as "about 90% of the world's whaling has been halted. When we began, Australia, Chile, South Africa, Spain, all of these countries were whaling nations, [and now] they no longer do that." Since 1950, we've seen a 40% decline in phytoplankton populations in the sea, and these tiny plants provide up to 70% of the oxygen in the air we breathe, as well as sequester enormous amounts of CO2. Their diminishing is occurring because the populations of whales, dolphins, seabirds, and fish have all been greatly reduced, and it's their excretions that provide the nutrient base for the phytoplankton, he explained.

UFO and paranormal researcher Malcolm Robinson has continued on his journey with his fourth book in a series of looking at strange and anomalous events throughout the British Isles. He shared a variety of cases, including accounts of ghosts and poltergeists and how the supernatural sometimes intersects with UFO incidents. When it comes to ghost sightings, such as at a haunted old castle, he pointed out that if you have six people at the location, only a subset of that group will typically sense phenomena, indicating that certain individuals may have a greater propensity for tuning into the spirit realm. He described an investigation at a haunted home in a tiny village in Scotland, where they had various monitoring equipment set up. Nothing was happening, "then suddenly the whole room illuminated. Tiny pinpricks of white sparkling light," he marveled-- what he viewed as a kind of pure psychic energy. Yet, frustratingly, when they went to check the video footage, none of the magical lights were picked up.

Regarding the crossover between ghosts and UFOs, Robinson detailed a case in Devon, England, in which a woman who'd experienced many UFO sightings saw a small Grey alien standing in her bedroom, while at the same time, a spirit girl dressed in 19th-century clothes appeared in the other part of the room before they both dissipated. He delved into the 1960 case of the 'Sauchie Poltergeist' that took place in Scotland and involved an 11-year-old girl named Virginia Campbell. Bizarre phenomena accompanied her presence both at her home and school, including disembodied footsteps, thumping sounds, objects moving on their own, and levitation. Robinson also touched on an odd photograph of a "winged creature" or fairy, the Green Lady apparition at a Scottish castle, and haunting phenomena at Chingle Hall in Lancashire.
