Sci-Fi Special Effects / UFOs in the Bible

About the show

Bill Kimberlin, a sought-after lecturer and speaker on the subject of special effects, is a true insider on some of the most celebrated movies and franchises of the past century, including Jurassic Park, Star Trek, Jumanji, and perhaps most notably, Star Wars. He joined C2C's new guest host Rich Berra (email) to discuss his time at Industrial Light & Magic, making Star Wars films, and George Lucas' Skywalker Ranch (photos).

Kimberlin reminisced about working on films, particularly within the Star Wars universe. He commented on the name changes and codenames associated with the Star Wars films and recounted an incident where a sneak preview of "Return of the Jedi" generated immense excitement from the audience, akin to the hysteria of a Beatles concert. Kimberlin shared a personal anecdote about receiving a "Revenge of the Jedi" (the film's original title) poster and its subsequent value over time.

Kimberlin talked about his journey into filmmaking, starting from film school to eventually working on major projects like "Roger Rabbit," "Pearl Harbor," and "Saving Private Ryan." He reflected on George Lucas's visionary role in advancing film technology, such as THX, digital editing, and digital projection, despite initial resistance from Hollywood.

He spoke about Skywalker Ranch, George Lucas's visionary workspace in Northern California, and its unique blend of creativity and practicality. Kimberlin shared anecdotes about the atmosphere at Skywalker Ranch, including encounters with fans rummaging through trash for memorabilia. He also discussed Marsha Lucas's astute editing insights and pivotal role in enhancing film narratives as demonstrated in her feedback about including an emotional resolution in "Raiders of the Lost Ark."

A systems analyst with expertise in industrial robotics, software engineering, and data design, Ken Goudsward enjoys applying these skills to ancient Hebrew and Sumerian documents, as well as the UFO phenomenon. In the latter half of the program, he revealed how the Bible has been hiding secret UFO stories, and by closely examining the scriptures, one can find numerous biblical UFO encounters as recorded by over a hundred credible witnesses, including the likes of Moses, Daniel, Ezekiel, and many other prophets and apostles.

Goudsward examined the background of Project Bluebook, a US Army initiative led by a scientist to investigate UFO phenomena, which informed the scientific approach to categorizing encounters. He emphasized the differentiation between close encounters and distant sightings, highlighting the significance of physical evidence and the presence of living entities in determining the type of encounter in order to understand biblical narratives in a similar context.

Goudsward delved into biblical texts, challenging traditional interpretations and suggesting how mistranslations or overlooked contextual information may obscure the UFO-related aspects of biblical stories. Drawing on Hebrew texts, he pointed to instances like Jacob's encounter with otherworldly beings and the enigmatic burning bush experienced by Moses. These stories, devoid of the traditional religious lens, exhibit characteristics akin to UFO encounters, such as bright lights, metallic objects, and physical interactions, prompting reconsideration of their interpretations, he explained.

Goudsward compared Moses' prolonged encounter with a fiery object during the Israelites' desert journey to documented UFO sightings. He also discussed the Star of Bethlehem, noting discrepancies with conventional astronomical explanations and suggesting a more unconventional interpretation aligned with UFO encounters.
