Afterlife Exploration

About the show

Author Mark Palbicki joined guest host Connie Willis (info) to discuss his journey exploring existence after death in the region of Lake Tomahawk and the surrounding areas of northern Wisconsin following a near-death experience. Palbicki had an NDE in 1977 when he was hit by a car while crossing Lincoln Memorial Drive in Milwaukee. During the accident, he found himself floating above his body, observing everything around him in vivid detail, including the conversations and actions of those nearby. This out-of-body experience led to a profound shift in his perception of life, and sparked a deep curiosity to pursue ghost hunting and explore the mysteries of existence beyond death.

Palbicki described a chilling experience at the Village Cafe, which is known for its paranormal activity. During an investigation there, he and his team encountered unexplained phenomena, including strange noises, cold spots, and objects moving on their own. At one point, Palbicki felt an unseen force grab his arm, which left him deeply unsettled. The activity intensified throughout the night, with the team capturing eerie voices on their recording devices.

Palbicki shared an intense experience involving an exorcism during a paranormal investigation. The group, led by a psychic medium, encountered a malevolent presence at a home where the family reported unusual and disturbing activity. As the medium conducted the exorcism, the atmosphere became increasingly charged, with objects moving, strange sounds filling the room, and a heavy, oppressive feeling taking over, Palbicki recalled. He described feeling an overwhelming sense of fear and darkness during the ritual, but also a powerful force of good pushing back against the evil presence. Eventually, the exorcism was successful, and the family reported a noticeable change in the home's atmosphere, with the negative energy seemingly banished.

Palbicki also reported on a series of eerie encounters related to a ghost he called "Buckskin Kenny." Buckskin was a recluse who lived without electricity or running water in the woods. After his death, Palbicki and his friends experienced strange occurrences, notably with their coffee pot which mysteriously unplugged itself multiple times over several days. The oddest event happened in a store when a shopping cart seemed to follow Palbicki by disengaging and turning 180 degrees on its own. These incidents led him to believe that Buckskin's spirit was responsible for these supernatural events.

The final hour of the program featured Open Lines.
