His viewing led him to a location in Jerusalem. Through further investigation, Dames identified the exact spot of the crucifixion, which he claims is about 1.5 kilometers east-northeast of the traditionally believed location at the Church of the Holy Sepulcher. Dames pinpointed the site as a high point on the Mount of Olives, near a Greek Orthodox Viri Galilaei Church. He asserted that this precise spot is where Jesus was crucified. He also mentioned his intention to find Christ’s tomb, which is traditionally believed to be located at the Church of the Holy Sepulcher but remains uncertain.
