Prayer & Finances / Past & Future Lives

About the show

In the first half, author James Paris explained how the power of prayer can solve financial issues. He candidly discussed his rise to wealth, his subsequent downfall due to embezzlement by his own brother, and the transformative spiritual journey that followed.

"I was kind of like a golden boy," Paris recounted of his early career. By his early twenties, he had risen to senior vice president at a brokerage firm, and by his thirties, he was a multimillionaire with numerous business ventures, including a publishing company and a radio show. This upward trajectory abruptly changed when he discovered that his brother, who was also his accountant, had been embezzling money for years. "We stopped counting at $2 million," he noted, reflecting on this profound betrayal.

The financial catastrophe left Paris in a state of despair, leading him to contemplate suicide. "I had millions of dollars of life insurance on myself... I went down that dark road on at least three occasions," he revealed. However, he regained hope when he decided to pray regularly. Initially, he prayed for God to help him regain his lost wealth, but soon realized that he needed to be open to God's greater plan for him.

Regarding financial matters, Paris warned not to pray for specific outcomes, but to seek God's overall guidance instead. He mentioned the "bag of money prayer," where one requests immediate cash, as being too narrow in scope. "The better prayer is, 'God, what is your long-term plan for me?'" he advised, and stressed the importance of being open to new opportunities.

In the second half, hypnotherapist Bruce Goldberg discussed past life regression, future life progression, and the idea of parallel lives. He has conducted over 35,000 regressions, with his journey into the metaphysical realm beginning during his career as a dentist. Inspired by the book The Search for Bridey Murphy while in dental school, he started experimenting with hypnosis techniques to help address his patients' fears, and this venture uncovered past life connections. A notable case he shared involved a woman who endured multiple murders by the same man across her past lives.

Goldberg defined several critical concepts related to his practice: age regression (returning to childhood), past life regression (exploring previous incarnations), and future life progression (viewing upcoming lives). He also introduced the term "pararegression," which he coined to describe accessing parallel lives.

Goldberg believes our current perceptions are limited when compared to our true spiritual potential. He spoke of a higher plane—the fifth dimension—where one encounters the higher self, spirit guides, and even departed loved ones. "Everything we're dealing with is fifth-dimensional. We live in a fifth-dimensional universe," he stated.

He then elaborated on how habits and phobias often trace back to past lives, explaining that gaining insight through regressions can lead to genuine transformation. According to Goldberg, this process raises one's vibrational energy, enabling individuals to break free from self-defeating patterns and move toward a more fulfilling existence.
