"Thinking," he continued, "is literally picking up information from the past and the future," framing the mind as a "time machine" and imagination as a "wormhole" connecting different points in time. He argued that goal-setting is essentially "a memory of the future," a destination in time that motivates present actions. This concept, he suggested, aligns with advanced physics theories about multiple realities.
He emphasized that success and talent are not mere luck but stem from individuals connecting with their future self, an idea echoed in the works of Carl Jung and Saint Augustine. "Your future self is out there already," Hamilton said, explaining that envisioning future goals is a form of visiting oneself in the future to inspire present behavior. The future is fluid, he added, asserting, "You can alter it any time you want," illustrating this with everyday decisions and major life choices like buying a house.

In the latter half, author and former Blondie bassist Gary Lachman discussed his unique journey from rock musician to writer on consciousness and the occult, bridging the worlds of punk rock and esoteric spirituality. He revealed that his fascination with the esoteric began concurrently with his early days in Blondie during the mid-1970s in New York's Bowery, a gritty environment where occult interests thrived. He credited a British book, "The Occult" by Colin Wilson, as a pivotal influence, describing it as something that "just opened the door to this whole world that I knew nothing about."
On his music career, Lachman emphasized a creative freedom born from simplicity amid the complex rock scene of the early 1970s. He recounted adopting the stage name "Gary Valentine" to contrast the darker personas of his contemporaries. The Lachman-penned Blondie song "(I'm Always Touched by Your) Presence, Dear" was about a telepathic-like connection he had with his girlfriend at the time, Lisa Jane Persky. After leaving Blondie, he formed the band The Know, a name inspired by Gnosticism.
He recalled an encounter with David Bowie at his New York loft party, where a disagreement over Colin Wilson led to Lachman being escorted out by Bowie's female bodyguards. After leaving music, he moved to England and pursued writing full-time, eventually producing biographies of occult figures such as Aleister Crowley and Rudolf Steiner, and culminating in his comprehensive work, "The Secret Teachers of the Western World." He emphasized the historical significance of esotericism, noting, "Isaac Newton was more interested in that than he was in gravity... Gravity itself is an occult force because it's invisible."
