Comet Collision & Sci-Fi

About the show

Art's favorite sci-fi author, Dr. Jerry Pournelle, joined the show to discuss science fiction and his book "Lucifer's Hammer," about a comet hitting the Earth, and the real possibilities of this scenario. He outlined what might happen in the aftermath of such a cataclysm.

He talked about being an unofficial advisor to NASA on issues like this, and recalled his days in the Apollo program. He advised aspiring authors to finish what you write and follow through by sending it off to someone who can buy it.

The first half-hour and the last three hours were filled with news and Open Lines, including such topics as an earthquake in the Virgin Islands that had just happened, Chupacabras sightings in Mexico, and a planned debate between Richard C. Hoagland and Edgar Mitchell on alleged artifacts on the Moon.

George Noory celebrated the start of his 23rd year hosting Coast to Coast AM, welcoming John Kachuba for a discussion on shapeshifters — people who can change themselves into another person, animal, or inanimate object. Open Lines followed in the latter half of the program.
