Geologic researcher Dorian Weisel believes that the prophecies and predictions of Gordon Michael Scallion were being borne out by recent volcanic activity. He stated that when magma moves underground, this makes "sound waves travel through the ground" and that they create earthquakes.

Weisel predicted that recent earthquakes (including one near Landers, California) were warning signs of a more serious event that would be occurring soon. This signaled the "next segment of the continent being sectioned off," and that part of California along the San Andreas fault line would begin to separate from North America.
